Smooth Strokes Tennis Academy (SSTA)

Napoleon and Alyce Meadors founded Smooth Strokes Tennis Academy in 1999 after relocating from St. Louis, MO where they led a very successful charitable tennis organization, MATCH for over a decade. The Meadors are Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) certified tennis teaching Professionals with over 40 years of tennis instruction, organization and administration between them. Alyce has held local, sectional and National positions with the USTA, RTL and the ATA. Napoleon has held local and regional positions with these organizations and has served as tournament director for local, regional and national tournaments sanctioned by the USTA, RTL and the ATA. In addition, both Alyce and Napoleon are certified tennis officials. The primary goal of Smooth Strokes Tennis is to enhance the participation of urban youth in the game of tennis – the sport of a lifetime. In the future, SSTA also offers a variety of activities centered on the sport of tennis, as the sport can serve as the catalyst for many social, educational, fitness, and cultural opportunities for tennis players of all ages.
